"Adopt-A-Senior"

In January, Coach Purdy began a community outreach program involving senior players from both the boys and girls team. The goal is to provide a character building opportunity for these young men and women as they work closely with students from local elementary schools.

Our “Adopt-A-Senior” program consists of one senior being assigned to a specific school and classroom. They arrive early enough to have breakfast with the students and then walk with them to thier class. At that time, the player will discuss life lessons, read a book and/or encourage student participation with a time of questions & answers . As weather permits, players will spend recreational time with the students, promoting exercise, skills and possible discovery of new sports.

We are very excited about this program, seeing the benefits to both the players and the children. They will be a positive influence on each other. Mentoring to and motivating these young students will encourage them to do their very best in many aspects of their little lives. Being a positive role model provides the opportunity for these young men and women to demonstrate the right way to handle yourself not only on the field but in everyday life.
